Dr. John Kuo has two doctorate degrees (M.D. and Ph.D.) from top U.S. universities and is double board-certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has been a full-time Assistant Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) since 2007. Dr. John Kuo’s extensive 19 year education started with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with Academic Honors from Columbia University, a top Ivy-League school. He then earned a Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California (USC). Dr. Kuo continued his medical training with an internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob/Gyn) at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, followed by a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) at UCLA. He then joined the UCLA faculty specializing in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Kuo is dedicated to providing top quality personalized medical care to his patients. He has been the Oncofertility Director at UCLA since January 2011, which is the fertility field dedicated to preserving the reproductive potential of cancer patients. His commitment to teaching at UCLA includes multiple Department of Ob/Gyn "Grand Rounds" lectures, Graduate level course instructor, fellow physician training, resident physician training, medical student teaching, and medical presentations to the community.

Dr. John Kuo also earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Neuroscience at UCLA. He has extensive knowledge and research experience in studying the brain and its functions since the brain regulates oocyte (egg) maturation, triggers ovulation, and controls the menstrual cycle. Dr. Kuo's current research in the field of Neuroendocrinology involves understanding hormonal mechanisms regulating ovulation, estrogen effects on brain function, and estrogen receptor signaling.
